Dara School seeks to employ teachers who are committed to implementing the pedagogy and best practice in Gifted Education.  For prospective Dara School employees, it would be an advantage to have already undertaken formal qualifications in Gifted Education or to be willing to undertake postgraduate studies in this area.

Primary Teacher

Contract Full Time

Dara School is a community that nurtures learning and personal growth in intellectually gifted students. It is a secular, independent and co-educational school. It has grown since its establishment in 2017 to currently cater for Reception to Year 10 students and will continue to grow incrementally to cater for students from Reception to Year 12 by 2025.

Teachers at Dara School are passionate about teaching gifted students. They are attuned to the characteristics of gifted students and have the expertise to proactively work with them. Teachers at Dara School have integrity, compassion, strive for excellence, and are empowered with a sense of purpose for the future, making professional decisions that align with the school’s mission and vision statements.

Key requirements of the role include:

  • Mentoring students and facilitating personalised education,
  • Using teaching practices that effectively cater for Gifted learners,
  • Providing effective assessment, feedback and reporting,
  • Engaging in continuing professional learning and development.

A qualification in Music and/or Gifted Education would be highly regarded but is not essential for this role. Some out of hours work will be required, which will be managed in accordance with the flexible working arrangements provided for in the School’s Enterprise Agreement.
