The curriculum has been designed to meet the academic needs of individual students through flexible grouping based on ability rather than age. This approach supports Dara’s philosophy that all students are entitled to rigorous, relevant and engaging learning opportunities.
Our classroom learning and provides four different ways of looking at knowledge. This approach encourages students to engage with the curriculum and:
1. Study core knowledge within a discipline comprised of the enduring facts, concepts, principles and skills.
2. Examine the relationships and connections that exist across topics, disciplines, events, time and cultures.
3. Practice transferring and applying knowledge using the tools and methods of researchers, scholars and practitioners.
4. Explore their own identity through personal development and finding affinities within and across disciplines.
