Curriculum

Dara School curriculum has been designed to meet the academic needs of individual students through a student-centred approach, including the use of flexible groupings based on ability rather than age. This approach supports Dara School’s philosophy that all students are entitled to rigorous, relevant, creative  and engaging learning opportunities.

Our teaching method is underpinned by four different ways of looking at knowledge. This approach encourages students to engage with the National Curriculum and to;

1. Study core knowledge within a discipline comprised of the enduring facts, concepts, principles and skills.

2. Examine the relationships and connections that exist across topics, disciplines, events, time and cultures.

3. Practice transferring and applying knowledge using the tools and methods of researchers, scholars and practitioners.

4. Explore their own identity through personal development and finding affinities within and across disciplines.
